The Yallourn Transition Program

A Responsible Transition. A Commitment to Our People.

Launched in November 2022, the $10 million Yallourn Transition Program is an industry leading transition program, providing the opportunity for employees to retrain and be job ready well ahead of Yallourn’s closure.

The Yallourn Transition Program provides practical tools, personalised guidance and dedicated services designed to help workers move confidently into their next chapter, including:

  • Developing a plan for the future – whatever that may be

  • Access to personalised guidance from professional coaches

  • Opportunities to retrain in an entirely new career

  • Access to training to build new skills and qualifications to further an existing career

  • Access to advice and planning for long‑term financial wellbeing

  • Information on job opportunities relevant to the workforce

  • Support to prepare for the job market, such as resume and interview preparation etc.

  • Links to redeployment opportunities

This program is a key part of EnergyAustralia’s commitment to a fair and responsible energy transition—one that values the workers of the Latrobe Valley who have powered Victoria for a century.

You can read more about our commitment to our people in our submission to the Net Zero Economy Authority on the Energy Industry Jobs Plan for Yallourn below.
